About Us
ZeroCFI Energy manufactures ultra-compact green-hydrogen electrolyser power plants designed to replace both heavy-vehicle diesel engines and diesel-based power generation systems.
Our Story
Around 2001, we set out to decode the mysteries of water. What followed was a deep exploration of its unique polar structure and the intrinsic properties that may hold the key to a new era of energy.
As our research progressed, we encountered the work of numerous pioneers investigating methods to manipulate and dissociate water into hydrogen and oxygen. We studied their work in depth, built on their discoveries, and developed our own understanding of the physical principles involved.
This curiosity-driven journey evolved into a focused pursuit: exploring how water’s properties could enable a more efficient and practical method of dissociating water into hydrogen and oxygen for sustained energy production.

Our Approach
Drawing on knowledge across quantum physics, materials science, electromagnetics, and engineering, we began designing and building energy-production prototypes in 2008.
Today, we’re developing our fourth hydrogen-based prototype: the Gen 4 CSD Electrolyser. It’s a new type of electrolyser designed to replace the 237-year-old electrolyser technology still in use today, producing substantial volumes of green hydrogen and oxygen while using minimal power.
By combining this electrolyser with a gas separator and fuel cell, we are developing an ultra-compact, self-contained Hydrogen Electrolyser Power Plant - a drop-in power system designed to generate electricity where it is needed. This approach has the potential to reduce reliance on large, dedicated hydrogen-storage tanks traditionally used to supply fuel cells.
In 2023, we acquired a 12.5-metre coach as a real-world heavy-vehicle testing platform for our Hydrogen Electrolyser Power Plant. Working alongside partners, our plan is to integrate one of these power plants into the coach.
Once the power plant achieves its initial workshop performance targets, we’ll remove the coach’s diesel engine, fuel tanks, and gearbox, and install the power plant in their place. Combined with an appropriate electric motor and battery bank for intermittent high-power demand, the system is intended to operate as a potential drop-in alternative to a conventional diesel systems.
Based in Western Australia, our initial focus is the mining industry. We also welcome conversations with organisations in other sectors that share our interest in practical, scalable green-energy solutions.
